Crystal Palace, founded in 1905, first introduced an official club crest in the late 1940s which was of course an image of the palace from which their name was derived.  The badge featured here also shows the claret and blue which The Glaziers wore up until the reign of Malcolm Allison began in the 1970s.

For one year a simple monogrammed, circular crest was used, designed by a competition winner in 1972. Since 1973 badges in a number of guises have been seen on the shirts at Selhurst Park as it has evolved, over the ensuing years, to reflect the new colours of red and blue and also the new nickname of The Eagles.
